Dear Residents,

Please find below the October Crime report from PCSO JO Woods

🗣️ A message to residents of #Northaw and #Cuffley

👮 Your local PCSO Jo Woods is back with her latest report. Here’s an overview of what happened in October …

📊 This month there was one attempted burglary and two thefts from vehicles. Please do continue to ensure you are following our crime prevention advice at herts.police.uk/crimeprevention

☕ I hosted a ‘Coffee with a Cop’ beat surgery at the Life Church coffee shop in Cuffley. It was a chance for residents to come along and share their views and gain crime prevention advice.

🌘 As the nights get darker, I gave safety advice around keeping your home secure and also personal safety when walking alone. I encouraged residents to download ‘Hollie Guard’, an app which has many reassuring features such as tracking your movements and alerting your emergency contacts if something is wrong.

✔️Here are some tips to help keep you safe during the dark nights:

• Carry an alarm around with you
• Tell a friend/ family member where you are and what time you will be home.
• Download an app like Hollie Guard, that tracks your movements and alerts your emergency contacts if something is wrong.

🏡 We also spoke about the things you can do to help your home look ‘lived in’ – such as by using timer switches for lamps. This can help deter burglars during the dark nights. There’s lots of other helpful tips on our website at www.herts.police.uk/crimeprevention so please do take a look.

👋 Stay safe and speak soon!
