Northaw & Cuffley Parish Council would like to inform the community on an important update that comes after careful consideration of community feedback.
The Parish Council has made the decision not to renew funding for the local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) position. A recent survey indicated that residents do not believe the PCSO role has provided value for money.
This subject was discussed at great length with very careful and considered analysis.
The Council, all of whom are also residents, are fully aware of community member’s concerns on safety and security in our parish and the Parish Council will closely monitor local crime levels to assess if a more effective strategy can be implemented or additional measures are needed.
The Council believe that this funding can be better allocated towards other initiatives that can more directly benefit the community.
The Parish Council would like to thank our PCSO for their service and reassure residents that we will continue to engage with local law enforcement to address any concerns that may arise.
