Information about our local police, how to contact them and local crime statistics.

Contacting the Police

The NON emergency phone number: 101 should be used for reporting issues like anti-social behaviour.

999 should only be used for active emergencies.

Crimes can also be reported online using the Police.uk website https://www.police.uk (Website will open up in a new window)

Local Policing

Our local police force are Hertfordshire Police, and the area is policed by our local Safer Neighbourhoods team are the Welwyn Hatfield South team based at Hatfield.

You can make an appointment to see someone from the Safer Neighbourhood Team by calling 101, or via the “contact us” tab on their website (Using the link above).

Herts Connected

Hertfordshire Police manage a free interactive messaging service called Herts Connected (A similar service used to be know as OWL) you can sign up to get connected with what is happening in our local area, keep up to date, and have your say in what goes on in Hertfordshire.

Herts Connected is a free interactive messaging service from Hertfordshire Constabulary.

You will also be able to choose who you would like to receive messages from – including the Police and Crime Commissioner, Neighbourhood Watch and Action Fraud. Your preferences will make your messages bespoke and not just related to your postcode.
