Annual Meeting of the Parish Electorate
The Local Government Act states that every parish must hold a Meeting of the Parish Electorate once a year. This meeting must be held between 1st March and 1st June and proceedings must not begin before 6pm. The Chairman of the Parish Council (or vice-chair if the Chairman is unable to attend) must preside. The Agenda is usually a standard agenda, allowing for the presentation of reports on the business of the last 12 months. The Annual Meeting of the Parish Electorate is not a parish council meeting, and is not conducted in the same way, nor governed by the same rules. It is an opportunity for parishioners to question Councillors on any issues relating to the Parish.

Planning Committee Working Party
The Parish Council is not a Planning Authority and therefore does not determine planning applications. However the Parish Council is formally consulted by Welwyn Hatfield Council on all planning applications within the Parish. Planning applications typically have a 21 day consultation period. Therefore, the Planning Committee Meetings are held every two or three weeks, depending on the volume and sensitivity of the applications to be considered.
