The work relating to the removal of the nests has now been completed, with 341 OPM nests removed from 16 affected trees during the works.

ORIGINAL NOTICE 12/08/26
Please be aware that removal of the Oak Processionary Moth nests at KGV will begin on Monday at 08.00.
The appointed contractor, Maydencroft, will be carrying out this work by hand, with the assistance of climbing and lifting equipment, or ladders, as required.
All members of the removal team are suitably trained for handling this toxic pest.
In addition the team onsite will be working in full PPE, in accordance with safety regulations.
You will be pleased to hear that we have been advised that there is no requirement to close the playing field, or playground, while this work is being carried out.
Maydencroft have confirmed that they will manage their immediate working areas appropriately while the team are carrying out the OPM removal, ensuring members of the public are kept a safe distance from their work areas.
We ask that you please respect these safety cordons during the periods when this work is being carried out.
