Road Closure – Northaw Road East

Herts Highways have contacted us regarding upcoming improvements to the zebra crossing on Northaw Road East, Cuffley. These improvements aim to make it easier and safer for local people, including children and families travelling to and from Cuffley Primary School, to cross the road.

These works include:
• construction of a new raised zebra crossing
• improvements to the existing traffic calming measures
• installation of an advisory 20 mph school speed limit
• road resurfacing and other associated works

Works are scheduled to start on Monday 17 August and finish on Saturday 29 August. The zebra crossing will be closed for the duration of the works. To keep local people and the workforce safe while these improvements are carried out, access restrictions will be in place along Northaw Road East.

Northaw Road East will be closed between the southern end of King James Avenue and Cattlegate Road except for access to properties and side roads.
• Travelling northbound on Northaw Road East, you will be able to access Coronation Avenue, Kingsway and Theobalds Road (via Northaw Road East end), but you will not be able to access King James Avenue
• Travelling southbound on Northaw Road East, you will be able to access King James Avenue, but will not be able to access Coronation Avenue, Kingsway and Theobalds Road (via Northaw Road East end)

Between Thursday 27 August and Saturday 29 August, from 8am to 4pm each day, there will be no vehicle access to or from Kingsway, Theobalds Road (via the Northaw Road East end) and 40-52 Northaw Road East, except for emergency vehicles. This is to allow us to resurface this section of road. If you need access for your car during this closure period, please park it in one of the local car parks or on an adjacent road.
